Richmond International Raceway Advance Notes

Richmond Review:  Montoya has seven previous starts at Richmond International Raceway (RIR) with a best finish of sixth earlier this season in May.  His best start came in the 2008 spring race when the No. 42 Target Chevrolet took the green flag in sixth place.  Montoya has completed all 1600 laps in the last four events at RIR.

 

About Atlanta: Juan Pablo Montoya continued his hot streak of top-10 finishes when he brought home a ninth-place finish at Atlanta Motor Speedway over the weekend.  The finish marks the fourth consecutive top-10 finish for the HUGGIES team and the 12th one of the season.

 

2010 Statistics:  In the 25 Cup races so far this season Montoya and the Target team have two poles, 16 top-10 starting positions, one win, five top-five and 12 top-10 finishes.  Montoya is currently on a seven race streak of top-10 starting positions, four race streak of top-10 finishes and has scored a driver rating in the top-10 for the last six races starting at the Brickyard.  Along with his on-track statistics the No. 42 sits in the top-10 in the following categories:

 

·         Driver rating of 94.9, which ranks him seventh and the only driver not in the top-12 in points

·         1754 times passed under green-flag conditions, lowest of all drivers

·         76.8% of quality passes, highest of all drivers

·         Green flag speed (Fourth)

·         Fastest drivers late in a run (Sixth)

CHASSIS INFO

No. 42 Target Chevrolet (NSCS):  Chassis #1005.  Pattie and the No. 42 team are bringing chassis #1005 to Richmond International Raceway this weekend, the second race of the season for this chassis.  The chassis was first used at Martinsville where Montoya had a tire expire forcing a 36th-place finish.
