WATKINS GLEN, N.Y.
(August 12, 2007) - David Stremme and the No. 40 Coors Light team lined up inside the top-25 to take the green on Sunday at Watkins Glen International and then cautiously and patiently worked their way around the 2.45-mile road course to score a 21st-place finish.

Stremme raced up to as high as 11th, knocking on the door of the top 10 and then lingered there throughout a good portion of the last quarter of his run.   He held on in the closing laps to lead the Chip Ganassi Racing with Felix Sabates (CGRFS) teams with a 21st-place result.  His teammates Reed Sorenson and Juan Pablo Montoya finished 28th and 39th respectively.

The race was almost three hours long after a good portion of the last half was polluted with yellow and red flags. There was a total of eight caution periods called throughout the day and nine different lead changes.

The No. 40 team is now 26th in the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup point standings.  Stremme and team are 172 points outside the top 20.

The NEXTEL Cup Series heads to Michigan International Speedway next for the 3M Performance 400 on Sunday, August 19.  The race is set to begin at 2 p.m. ET and will broadcast live on ESPN, MRN and Sirius Satellite Radio channel 128.
