TRANSCRIPT: INDYCAR Media Day – Juan Pablo Montoya
Juan, going through some testing already, your thoughts?
JUAN PABLO MONTOYA: I’m really excited. I mean, I feel like I’m not where I want to be yet with the car. I feel we have come a long way.
It’s weird. Sometimes we’re really good, some we’re average. The first Sebring test was horrible. I feel like Sonoma was pretty good. I was really happy.
It’s hard because the new tires are different than the ones I’ve been used to the last three years. I’m starting to get it, but the problem is I don’t get to put it all together.
Montoya, Team Penske’s newest signing, brings success gained in Indy car, Formula 1 and NASCAR to the Roger Penske-owned program in 2014, and will take time out from his test Monday at the wine country road course to answer the five most compelling questions posted here via our comments section (CLICK HERE).
The 38-year-old Colombian will field the five questions via web videos posted on RACER.com, so be sure to leave your submission today.
MOORESVILLE, NC (December 13, 2013) – Despite the best efforts of Mother Nature, Juan Pablo Montoya completed his first two IndyCar Series oval track tests for Team Penske this week at both Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) and Auto Club Speedway (ACS). The team was originally scheduled to test at ACS on Monday, Dec. 9 and PIR on Wednesday, Dec. 11, but high winds in Fontana, Calif. forced an adjustment to the schedule as the Team Penske Dallara/Chevrolet instead ran at PIR on Tuesday and ACS on Thursday.
SEBRING, Fla. (November 25, 2013) – Juan Pablo Montoya was anxious to get to work Monday as he turned his first laps as driver of the No. 2 Dallara/Chevrolet for Team Penske. For the first time since 2000, Montoya got behind the wheel of an IndyCar as he performed well during a full day of testing with his new team at Sebring International Raceway.
